Apples Week 1

The Monkey class pretended to have an Apple Market.  They were buying and selling Apples:)

We discovered what the inside of an Apple looks like.  We also counted the number of seeds inside of an Apple.

We sang the song Way Up High in the Apple Tree!  Their favorite part was when we "shook" the Apples out of the tree!

We made Apples in a Basket books this week.  We used ink pads and made finger print apples to put in each basket.

We measured each monkey friend using Apples!!  How many Apples tall are you??

At circle time, we learned about positional words.  During this activity, we are putting the Apple in the tree, on top of the tree, under the tree, behind the tree, in front of the tree....they did awesome!

At the end of the week, we finally got to taste the three colors of Apples we've been talking about all week!  We tasted red, green and yellow apples....red was our favorite:)

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Week

This week we focused a lot on writing and recognizing our names!  During this activity, the kiddos identified each letter in their name, arranged the letters in the correct order and then counted the number of letters in their names.

We read the book Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and we acted out the story using our felt board and felt letters.  We discovered from the book that there wasn't enough room!!!

Making Coconut Trees with letters.

During circle time, we searched for the first letter in each friends' name in upper and lower case.

To end the week, we made our own Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Coconut Tree using apples, raisins, pretzel rods, and letter Cheezits.  Fun and yummy!
